At Gunnison Lake throughout the summertime months highs are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's with temperatures at Gunnison Lake dipping down into the 10's throughout winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is good on Gunnison River - North Fork. There's so much to do here at Gunnison Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Smith       Fork Campground is a delightful place for that. Gunnison Lake is commonly a quite dry place; the month of October is the wettest with most of the rain; June is the month with the least moisture. Gunnison Lake is right by the Minnesota Pass Trail; after a long day outdoors The Elevation Hotel is a tremendous place to spend a night or two. Get dripping wet paddling on Anthracite Creek - Ruby Fork. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Gunnison Lake has                  to offer, you can camp at Crystal Meadows Ranch. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this site. Take a hike on the Hammond Trail, and some of the water close by flows, like Spruce Creek. Near Gunnison Lake you discover Spruce Draw which is a delightful place to stop at, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Sunset Trail.
