Powderhorn is a good local ski area; you can stay the night at Grand Junction/Clifton Campground. If you're here, you might as well have a look at Lockhart Draw; you can have a tremendous hiking adventure along the Spring Camp Trail. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Best Western Grande River Inn & Suites is a good choice. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Guild Reservoir has to offer, you can camp at Rv Ranch Grand Junction.
