La Grulla Lake is one of the lakes here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. While you're here at La Grulla Lake, you could also visit gorgeous Dry Lake, and after a long day outdoors Branding Iron Motel is a great location to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. Get soaked paddling on Conejos River, and hiking is a popular thing to do around La Grulla Lake; Notch Trail is a fine local       trail. You'll really wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the cool things in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. If you came for an overnight stay Ponderosa Campground is a great place to camp, and there's fine hiking along the Conejos Stock Driveway. Through the warmest time of the year, highs ordinarily are in the 60's at La Grulla Lake. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 40's. Throughout the winter                  the highs are generally in the 30's while La Grulla Lake nighttime low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 0's. Spectacle Lake Campground is a nice campground nearby, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Posos Trail. That right there is lots of cool stuff already but it goes on, the San Juan and Jemez Mountains has it all. Soar down the rapids of Rio de los Pinos in a kayak, and Beaver Lake is a nearby lake that you could check out.
