Camping at Spectacle Lake Campground is always a great experience, and don't leave La Grulla Lake without first going for a hike along the Posos Trail. A large amount of rain falls at La Grulla Lake; through the month of March you get the most snow around here, and the driest of the months is June. You       can run the rapids of Conejos River near La Grulla Lake, and Branding Iron Motel is a glorious spot to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. La Grulla Lake is good enough to spend more than a day at, Ponderosa Campground is a good local campground; there are magnificent places to discover along the Notch Trail. Now, you may feel that's plenty but there's even more enjoyable stuff to do here at La Grulla Lake. For the period of the months of summer at                  La Grulla Lake highs are generally in the 60's; the night is somewhat cooler of course, frequently in the 40's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 30's; during the dark hours in the wintertime at La Grulla Lake temperatures sink to the 0's. Rio de los Pinos is a delightful whitewater spot in the neighborhood of La Grulla Lake, and going for a hike on the Conejos Stock Driveway is always a delightful adventure.
