     Taylor Reservoir is a tremendous lake near Grindstone Lake, and if you came to camp Kroeger Campground is a delightful site to do that. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Rough Canyon Trail is always a wonderful adventure, and a splendid close by hotel is Best Western Mountain Shadows. Hermosa Creek has a perfect whitewater paddling spot close by; a day on the slopes of Hesperus Ski Center is just what you need. For the duration of the summertime at  
   Grindstone Lake highs are mostly in the 70's, and the overnight is fairly cooler of course, mostly in the 30's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 30's, and night lows at Grindstone Lake through the wintertime frequently sink into the 0's.
Go for a hike on the Highline Trail, and paddling on Dolores River is so much fun. Everybody loves Bear Creek Basin, and if you need a spot to stay Lodge at Tamarron is a good choice. You clearly ought to like Grindstone
 
               Lake. Grindstone Lake is good enough to spend more than a day at, Priest Gulch Campground and RV is a good local campground; there is a splendid hiking trail close by called the Highline Loop Trail.
There are other spots here than Grindstone Lake, for example Ridgetop Reservoir. A common amount of precipitation falls here at Grindstone Lake; through the month of August you get the most rain around here while June is typically the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. You have to absolutely stop at Cape of Good Hope since you're here at Grindstone Lake; if you like skiing, you're in luck; Durango is pretty near.
