Best Western Mountain Shadows is a tremendous place to get some rest; some exciting geology is available here, Cape of Good Hope is right here. This lake is so wonderful. You should definitely dedicate some time to Bear Creek Basin if you're here at Grindstone Lake, and camping at Grindstone Lake is glorious fun, Kroeger Campground is a glorious local campground. This lake is so wonderful.       Really splendid skiing awaits you at Durango. A normal amount of rain falls here at Grindstone Lake; August is the month that gets the most rain, and June on the other hand is the driest. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Highline Trail, and there's whitewater on Dolores River for all you adrenaline people. There's great hiking along the Highline Loop Trail; you can never get enough of the good skiing at Hesperus Ski Center. The Rough Canyon Trail                  offers hiking at its best, and a great nearby hotel is Tamarron Resort. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to Grindstone Lake, and through the night it cools down to the 30's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's while the cold winter nights at Grindstone Lake are in the 0's. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors amusing stuff the area close to Grindstone Lake has to offer.
