Lynx Pass Campground is a glorious site for that; in case you don’t have a problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Colorado River. Grimes-Brooks Reservoir is pretty arid regularly; the month of
March is the wettest with most of the snow, and June is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Grimes-Brooks Reservoir you can take a hike along the Morrison Divide Trail, and Rock Creek
is a brilliant whitewater spot nearby.
This lake is so wonderful. The warmest time of the year at Grimes-Brooks Reservoir comes with high temperatures in the 70's, and through the night it cools down to the 40's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 30's, and night lows in the 0's for Grimes-Brooks Reservoir.

It is very nice to fish from a boat or bank, but I prefer boat....Wife and I where fishing Stagecoach, then we heard of Yamcolo, it was about 20 mins out of Yampa. We came around the corner of the earthen dam side, looked down the fish where jumpin all over the place grabbed the poles and it was off to the rodoe,15 fish as fast as we could 45min past sorry did not have camera going back this year in couple of weeks can't wait New Castle Colo, Apple Tree Park... |
