Why not stop by Griffith Lake if you're passing through these parts. This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Eaglesmere Trail, and hey, Gotta ski right? Vail is a great place to do that. At Griffith Lake you don’t see much rainfall; during August this area sees the most rain, and the driest of the months is February. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Blue River, and if you came for an overnight stay Willows

| | Campground is a pleasant spot to camp.
North Fork Elliott Creek is a stream that you may come across while here, and good hiking is available along the Surprise Trail. This lake is one of the great places here in the Park Range. So much enjoyable stuff in the Park Range, just phenomenal. From Griffith Lake you acquire a nice view of Eagles Nest, and there's whitewater on Blue River for all you thrill seekers.

At Vail is a wonderful place to get some rest, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Griffith Lake; Piney Lake Trail is a perfect local trail. Life's too short to enjoy all the enjoyable things in the Park Range. You're in all
probability hooked on lakes, Cliff Lake is one of those close by, and camping is available at Big Green Campground. During your tour to Griffith Lake you'll meet some people from Silverthorne for sure.
At Griffith Lake during
the days of summer highs are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 40's. Through the winter highs are in the 20's with temperatures at Griffith Lake dipping down into the-10's through winter nights. You just should
adore Griffith Lake. What would winter be without some skiing at Beaver Creek, and a great close by hotel is Vail Mountain Lodge And Spa.
