Mount Axtell can be distinguished from Green Lake; a lake close by is Peanut Lake. There are some magnificent whitewater spots on Oh Be Joyful Creek, and dry warm beds await you at Elevation Hotel & Spa. During the warm months at Green Lake temperatures are mostly in the 70's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 40's. Throughout the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Green Lake are in the-10's.

| | What a place this is for outdoors folks. If you came for an overnight stay Avery Peak Campground is a splendid spot to camp, needless to say you could also check out Nicholson Lake since you're here; it's not far at all.
This lake is so wonderful. The Mill-Castle Trail offers hiking at its best. This lake is so wonderful. Elk Mountain Lodge is a great location to get some rest, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Green Lake; Trail Riders Trail is | |

a nice local trail. Very pretty scenery and tremendous skiing is what you get at Irwin Lodge, and why not camp at Crested Butte Mountain Resort if you're here at Green Lake.
There's whitewater on Slate River for all you adrenaline
rush seekers, and there's brilliant hiking along the Lowline Trail. Green Lake gets very little rain; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain while February is generally the driest month.

Lost Lake Campground

I just camped at Lost Lake 2 weeks ago! It is so beautiful and serene they were holding a wedding there 2 days after we left. With only 10 campsites, it is quiet and ideal for families or couples. A beautiful view of Lost Lake Slough and of the mountains in the background greeted us in the morning. The full moon rising over the crest of the mountain was a real treat the first night we got there. There is a 3 mile hike within walking distance on which we saw beautiful wildflowers, 2 waterfalls, and 3 lakes. ENJOY!... |
