Great Western Dam is a gorgeous spot close to Great Western Reservoir, and if you come at the right time of year, Boulder Creek offers some magnificent whitewater. For the duration of the summertime months highs here at Great Western Reservoir get into the 80's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 50's. The wintertime brings       highs down to the 40's with temperatures at Great Western Reservoir dipping down into the 10's through winter nights. There's so much to do here at Great Western Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, Prospect RV Park is a good site for that, and a lake close by is Autrey Reservoir. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Oakwood at Stonegate is a magnificent choice; going for a hike on the Mesa Trail is always a fine adventure.                  Soar down the rapids of Boulder Creek - South in a kayak, and don't leave Great Western Reservoir without first going for a hike along the Bear Peak Trail. This lake is so wonderful. TownePlace Suites Boulder Broomfield is a fine spot to get some rest, and Great Western Reservoir is a place with many visitors from Boulder. Great Western Reservoir is pretty waterless usually; through May this area sees the most rain while January is typically the driest month. And if that's not sufficient, there's a load more to do close to Great Western Reservoir.
