There's so much to do here at Great Western Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, The Prospect RV Park is a great location for that, and a lake       nearby is Mower Reservoir. There are some wonderful whitewater spots on Boulder Creek - South, and there's pleasant hiking along the Bear Peak Trail. You definitely must love Great Western Reservoir. Near Great Western Reservoir you hit upon a golf course called Heritage Golf Course at Westmoor, and a brilliant nearby hotel is Oakwood at Stonegate. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Boulder                  Creek, and you can take a little trip to Great Western Dam while you're here at Great Western Reservoir. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Towneplace Suites By Marriott Denver Broomfield is a magnificent place to spend a night or two, and great hiking is available along the Saddle Rock Trail. All through the summer months at Great Western Reservoir temperatures are generally in the 80's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 50's. Highs through the winter are ordinarily in the 40's, and night lows at Great Western Reservoir during the wintertime typically sink into the 10's. Not much rain falls here at Great Western Reservoir; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain; January is when it's the driest.
