You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Powderhorn while you're here; why not check out Hogchute Dam while you're here. Good hiking is available along the Carson Lake Trail; some of the water close by flows, like Reservoir Creek. At Grand Mesa Reservoir Number 1 you don’t see much precipitation; all through the month of October you get the most rain around here, and January is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful.
