You'll need more than a day to look at everything Gourd Lake has to offer, you can camp at Crater Lake Campground, and the top of Cooper Peak is easily seen from Gourd Lake. Fraser River is a tremendous whitewater spot close to Gourd Lake, and a spree to Rocky Mountain National Park is worthwhile. All through the summertime at Gourd Lake temperatures are ordinarily in the 70's; through       summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. All through the winter this place gets highs in the 20's, and overnight lows at Gourd Lake during the wintertime generally descend into the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. Winter Park is a magnificent local ski area; if you need a place to stay Inn At Grand Lake, The is a wonderful choice. Lakes are such serene places, why not pop by Island Lake in the neighborhood of Gourd Lake, and do take a hike on the Buchanan                  Pass Trail. Not much rain falls here at Gourd Lake; through the month of August you get the most rain around here; the driest month of the year is February. Man, is there a heap of amusing things to do in the neighborhood of Gourd Lake. The skiing at Berthoud Pass is perfect, and some nearby water includes Thunderbolt Creek. This lake is one of the great places here in the Front Range. Now, you may believe that's plenty but there's even more cool stuff to do here in the Front Range. If you're here at Gourd Lake, checking out Saint Vrain Glaciers is a must; a tremendous close by hotel is The Inn at Grand Lake. If only every place had this much outdoors fun things, what a great earth it would be. A journey to Fox Park rejuvenates the spirit, and Gourd Lake is right by the Gourd Lake Trail. Have a brilliant hiking adventure along the Cascade Trail, and you can stay the night at Shelter Rock Campground. This lake is so wonderful. A wonderful lake like Upper Lake close to Gourd Lake is a tremendous location to stop by, and a brilliant spot for whitewater paddling is Boulder Creek. Whohoo, so much enjoyable stuff in one place!
