Econo Lodge Montrose is a good place to get some rest, and there are other spots here than Gould Reservoir, for example Onion Valley Reservoir. Bull Creek is one of the streams close by that might be worth checking out; Cedar Point is easy to spot from Gould Reservoir. This lake is so wonderful. The Minnesota Pass Trail offers hiking at its best, and if you came for an overnight stay Crawford is a pleasant place to camp. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this

Gould Reservoir is pretty dry usually; the month of October is the wettest with most of the rain while June is typically the driest month. Get your heart beating on the good whitewater of Gunnison River, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Gould Reservoir; Through Line Trail is a great local trail. highs are typically in the 80's; the overnight is a bit chillier of course, mostly in the 50's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 30's, and overnight lows in the 10's for Gould Reservoir.
Whitewater
paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Cimarron River, and dry warm beds await you at Rodeway Inn Montrose. This lake is so wonderful. A pleasant location to explore near Gould Reservoir is Iron Canyon,
and Mesa Creek Campground is a splendid campground nearby. Poison Spring Reservoir is a good lake in close proximity to Gould Reservoir.
