Gopher Reservoir is a nice lake to visit. If you go for the outdoors you'll go for it here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Turkey Springs Campground is a tremendous campground nearby; there is a good hiking trail close by called the Piedra Stock Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes are such calm sites, why not go to Newt Jack Spring Reservoir near Gopher Reservoir, and there are pleasant sites to look at along the Middle Mountain Trail. Man, is there

| | heaps of exciting things to do next to Gopher Reservoir. A short spree to Butcher Spring is always worthwhile; the top of Brockover Mesa is easily seen from Gopher Reservoir. This lake is so wonderful. Gopher Reservoir is a good location to visit for more than one day, Happy Camper RV Park is a good location to camp nearby, and going for a hike on the Fourmile Stock Trail is always a good adventure. Gotta ski right? Wolf Creek is a glorious place to do that. This lake is located in the wonderful San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Throughout the months of summer at Gopher Reservoir highs are usually in the 70's. During the dark
hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 30's. Highs during the wintertime are frequently in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Gopher Reservoir are in the-10's. San Juan River is a pleasant whitewater spot close to Gopher
Reservoir, and there are other places here than Gopher Reservoir, for example Turkey Springs Reservoir. At Gopher Reservoir you don’t see much precipitation; of all the months in a year July is the one with the most rain, and
June is the month with the least moisture. This spot, the San Juan and Jemez Mountains, has so much outdoors exciting stuff. While you're here at Gopher Reservoir you can play some golf at Pagosa Springs Golf Club, and dry warm beds await you at Fairfield Pagosa Resort.
