This lake is one of the great places here in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. While you're here at Goat Pen Reservoir you can take a hike along the Paradox Road, and if you need a site to stay Fairmont Franz Klammer Lodge is a great choice. Why not camp at Antone Spring Campground if you're here at Goat Pen Reservoir, and going for a hike along the Dry Creek Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood. This lake is so wonderful.

| | Get covered with water paddling on San Miguel River; Corner Reservoir is a good lake nearby. Goat Pen Reservoir is pretty waterless typically; the month with most of the rain is July, and the driest month is February. For the duration of the summer at Goat Pen Reservoir highs are usually in the 80's with night lows in the 40's. to the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. A short journey to Flatiron Spring is always worthwhile, and since you're here, you might as well stop at Saint Joe Draw. You completely have to love the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. Get
yourself into a kayak and hit San Miguel River, and why not take a little tour to North Creek if you're here. And if that's not enough, there's a heap more to do right next door to Goat Pen Reservoir. Camping is available at Iron
Spring Campground, and you'll probably meet some folks from Montrose here. These mountains rock, just check out all the enjoyable stuff to do in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. Hiking along the Horsefly Trail is glorious fun, and there are other locations here than Goat Pen Reservoir, for example Cartwheel Reservoir.
