Really glorious skiing awaits you at Ski Rio, and you acquire a splendid vista of Barker Dome from here. All through the months of summer at Glacier Lakes temperatures are mostly in the 80's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 40's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 30's; through the dark hours in the winter at Glacier Lakes temperatures dip to the-10's. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this       place. This lake is so wonderful. Red River has perfect slopes and a friendly staff, and McCrystal Creek Campground is a good campground here. Now, you may feel that's loads but there's even more exciting stuff to do here in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Best Western River's Edge is a great place to get some rest; Glacier Lakes is a pleasant spot to camp, Mallette Campground is a pleasant spot. This lake is one of the great places here in the Sangre De                  Cristo Mountains. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always pop by nearby Glacier Lakes, and going for a hike along the Bernal Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region.
