This lake is so wonderful. There are some good whitewater spots on Rio Brazos, and on a splendid day you can take a hike along the La Manga Stock Driveway. If you fancy the outdoors, you'll go for Glacier Lakes. El Vado Lake Camping Resort is a wonderful local campground, and there is a splendid hiking trail nearby called the Elk Creek Trail. And if that's not enough there's plenty       more enjoyable things to do in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Trujillo Meadows Campground is a magnificent campground nearby. You could also have a look at Finger Lake if you're here at Glacier Lakes; it's nearby, and after a long day outdoors Branding Iron Motel is a great location to spend a night or two. Just can't get enough of the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Nearby lakes? Sure, Crater Lake is right next door to Glacier Lakes, and if you need a location                  to stay Best Western Jicarilla Inn & Casino is a pleasant choice. The high level of rain makes Glacier Lakes a relatively wet place; March is the wettest month with most snow, and the driest month is June. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Rio Chama; the Red Lake Trail is a great hiking trail close by. Summertime highs at Glacier Lakes generally tend to be in the 60's while overnight lows are generally in the 40's.
