Around Gem Lake you don’t get a lot of rain; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month of the year is January. And if that's not enough there's plenty more exciting stuff to do in the Park Range. There's so much to do here at Gem Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Beaver Creek Campground is a glorious site for that, and do set aside some time       for Encampment Meadows while you're here at Gem Lake. The Park Range scenery is always beautiful. Going for a hike on the Stump Park Trail is always a perfect adventure, and Sheraton Steamboat Springs Resort And Conference Center is a good spot to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. The Gem Lake Trail is a delightful hiking trail in close proximity to Gem Lake, and you can run the rapids of Elk River. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this spot.                  A splendid place for whitewater paddling near Gem Lake is Encampment River, and there is a nice hiking trail close by called the Main Fork Trail. Now, you may believe that's plenty but there's even more enjoyable things to do here in the Park Range. If you came to camp Lakeside Campground is a pleasant site to do that. Through the summertime highs here at Gem Lake reach the 80's while night lows are regularly in the 40's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 30's with temperatures at Gem Lake dipping down into the 0's during winter nights. Nearby lakes?
