Gem Lake is not the only place close by, Sanchez Lakes is a close by lake; Village at Steamboat is a delightful place to get some rest. Gem Lake is right by the Gem Lake Trail, and a lake close by is Lake Diana. If you want a perfect time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Park Range. Camping at Beaver Creek Campground is always a pleasant experience; Buck Mountain       can be seen from Gem Lake. Gem Lake gets very little rain; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain; January is the month with the least moisture. The Park Range scenery is always beautiful. Have a good hiking adventure along the Stump Park Trail, and get your pulse rate up on the great whitewater of Elk River. These mountains rock, just look at all the entertaining stuff to do in the Park Range. If you need a location to stay CrossTimbers                  at Steamboat is a great choice; do take a hike on the Main Fork Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Don’t forget to pop by Encampment Meadows since you're here at Gem Lake. For the duration of the summertime at Gem Lake temperatures are usually in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 40's. High temperatures through the wintertime are normally in the 30's with temperatures at Gem Lake dipping down into the 0's all through winter nights. Just can't get enough of Gem Lake.
