The Winter Mesa Trail offers hiking at its best. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Garnet Mesa Reservoir has to
offer, you can camp at Amphitheater - Gunnison National Forest. Garnet Mesa Reservoir is pretty dry regularly; October is the month that gets the most rain; the driest month of the year is February. Garnet Mesa Reservoir is right
by the Point Camp Trail, and if you come at the right time of year, Gunnison River offers some wonderful whitewater.
Just can't get enough of Garnet Mesa Reservoir. A delightful nearby hotel is Best Western Sundance; whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Kannah Creek.
