Lakes are great; Knolls Reservoir is a lake that's in the neighborhood of Gardner Reservoir; there is a good hiking trail close by called the McPhee Stock Trail. Don't miss out on a spree to Mesa Verde National Park since you're here at Gardner Reservoir, and dry warm beds await you at Dunton Hot Springs. Float down the rapids of Dolores River in a kayak; going for a hike on the Ormiston Point Stock Driveway is always a great adventure. This lake is so wonderful.

| | Dunham Spring is a gorgeous place to stop by while you're at Gardner Reservoir, and there are brilliant places to look at along the Stoner Stock Trail. This lake is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, Dolores River offers some good whitewater. High temperatures at Gardner Reservoir during the summertime are in the 80's. the dark hours in the wintertime at Gardner Reservoir temperatures drop to the 10's. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always take a look at close by Dunham Reservoir. There's so much to do here at Gardner Reservoir
that you need to camp here for a while, Mc Phee Mobile Home and RV Park is a great spot for that. Gardner Reservoir is usually a rather dried out location; October is when you get the most rain here, and June on the other hand
is the driest. You completely must adore Gardner Reservoir. If you came to camp Cozy Comfort RV Park and Mountain Retreat is a great site to do that, and if you need a location to stay Days Inn Cortez is a brilliant choice.

Puett Reservoir
 | 14 miles away A.M. Puett Reservoir was originally constructed in 1905, and then reconstructed in 1960. It contains 163 surface acres when full and is owned and operated by the Summit Reservoir and Irrigation Company. The lake is stocked with fish by the Colorado Division of Wildlife and open for public fishing from the bank and from trolling motor powered boats. No swimming is allowed. The lake is on private land and access is limited to 3 feet above the high water line.... |

 | 14 miles away We stayed in this campground mid-July 2006. Very efficient, friendly park. Adequate power, water, and sewage hookups. Rates were reasonable; and the manager did indicate that longer stays were discounted. Nice fenced dog run for our puppies to enjoy. The microbrewery in town has a wide selection of locally made beverages. I would gladly stop at La Mesa RV Park again.... |
Summit Reservoir
 | 15 miles away Summit Lake was constructed in 1905 and reconstructed and enlarged in 1938. It is owned and operated by the Summit Reservoir and Irrigation Company. It contains 402 surfqace acres when full. The lake is stocked with fish by the Colorado Division of Wildlife (DOW) and open for public fishing. Public access is from highway 184 on the north side of the lake. There is a boat ramp. Fishing is allowed from the bank or from hand powered or trolling motor powered boats only. The public access is maintained by the DOW. The only facilities present is a boat ramp and a pit toilet. No fires, swimming or overnight camping is allowed.... |
