A visit to Garcia Lake is always a good idea. All the water falling down from the sky makes Garcia Lake a wet location; March is the month that gets the most snow while June is typically the driest month. A perfect close by hotel is Branding Iron Motel, and from Garcia Lake you get a good sight of Neff Mountain. Juan and Jemez Mountains has it all. A brilliant place for whitewater paddling close to Garcia Lake is Rio de los Pinos, and Garcia Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Trujillo Meadows Campground is a great local campground.
This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Garcia Lake you can take a hike along the Red Lake Trail, and a great location to camp here at Garcia Lake is El Vado Lake Camping Resort. Summer brings highs in the 60's to Garcia Lake.
Summer overnight lows fall down to the 40's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 30's, and nighttime lows throughout the winter for Garcia Lake tend to be in the 0's. Have a perfect hiking adventure along the La Manga Stock Driveway, and you could always discover Cumbres Pass.
