This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at Haggard's RV Campground, and going for a hike along the North Creek Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region. A wonderful nearby hotel is Super 8 Florence Canon City A, and lakes are such serene sites, why not check out Florence Number 1 and 2 Reservoir. Gains Reservoir is pretty dehydrated mostly; the wettest       month of the year is usually August, that's the one that rains the most while January is typically the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. All through the months of summer at Gains Reservoir highs are mostly in the 80's; during summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's while Gains Reservoir nighttime low temperatures throughout the winter are in the 20's. A tremendous location to camp here at Gains Reservoir                  is North Creek Campground, and a charming lake like Portland Reservoir is a great spot to have a look at. Days Inn Colorado is a fine site to get some rest, and if the weather is nice, you can go for a hike along the Second Mace Trail. Be careful coming to Gains Reservoir, you might not ever wanna go back home again.
