Now, you may assume that's plenty but there's even more entertaining stuff to do here in the San Juan Mountains. Summertime highs at Fuchs Reservoir frequently tend to be in the 70's, and the nighttime is slightly cooler of course, mostly in the 30's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Fuchs Reservoir descend into the-10's. A scenic lake like       Big Ruby Reservoir next to Fuchs Reservoir is a glorious spot to stop at, and Fuchs Reservoir is a fine place to camp, River Hill Campground is a fine place. This lake is so wonderful. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Rio Grande, and you can go for a hike on the Middle Creek Stock Driveway. This lake is one of the great places here in the San Juan Mountains. Camping at Fuchs Reservoir is tremendous fun, Road Canyon Campground is a tremendous local campground;                  going for a hike on the Fern Creek Stock Driveway is always a perfect adventure. And if that's not enough there's a lot more amusing stuff to do in the San Juan Mountains. A good close by hotel is Fairfield Pagosa Resort, and there are wonderful places to explore along the Long Ridge Stock Driveway. And if that's not enough, there's heaps more to do near Fuchs Reservoir. Big Ruby Dam has splendid water scenery and it's in the vicinity of Fuchs Reservoir; let's not forget Quartz Creek which is a stream that you may bump into while you're here.
