Colorado has many beautiful lakes and Franz Number 1 Reservoir is one of them. This lake is so wonderful. Fessler's Mobile Home Park is a glorious local campground; an afternoon playing golf at Salida Golf Club is always a pleasure. This lake is so wonderful. Have a tremendous hiking adventure along the Hunts Lake Trail, and Aspen Leaf Lodge is a fine spot to get some rest. Take a hike on the Simmons Peak Trail, and glide down the rapids of Arkansas River in

Really good skiing awaits you at Monarch, and Salamander Lake is a tremendous lake nearby. Now, you may believe that's a lot but there's even more entertaining stuff to do here at Franz Number 1 Reservoir. Why not camp at Little River Ranch Motel while you're here at Franz Number 1 Reservoir; lakes are such peaceful sites, why not visit Dry Lake. Franz Number 1 Reservoir is a location that is relatively dry regularly; the month with most of the rain is August, and January is the month with the least moisture. All through the summer months here
at Franz Number 1 Reservoir, high temperatures generally get into the 80's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's, and night lows all through the winter for
Franz Number 1 Reservoir tend to be in the 0's. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place.
If you come at the right time of year, Arkansas River offers some great whitewater, and as expected Murry Ditch flows through this
neighborhood. Cemetery Gulch is in the neighborhood of Franz Number 1 Reservoir and is a fine place, and Franz Number 1 Reservoir is right by the Round Hill Trail.

...Front Range resorts each weekend. Located on Highway 50 on the Continental Divide, Monarch is very accessible. It's also one of the oldest ski areas in Colorado, established in 1939.
Monarch Mountain is what you expect from a real Colorado ski area. Abundant natural snow (350+ inches) and friendly people are two of our strongest attributes. You can walk from your car right to the lifts, prices are reasonable, and the runs flow naturally back to the base area. At Monarch you'll lose the crowds but not your friends.
Monarch is a family favorite because of great snow conditions and easy access to the mountain. Having one base area makes it convenient to drop off the little ones in the Children's Center, pick-up rental equipment, sign up for ski school and get on the slopes in a timely manner. Lift lines are a rarity and you will regularly find ski runs to yourself.
