Why not stop by Four Base Lake if you're passing through these parts. This lake is so wonderful. Canyon Creek is one of the streams nearby that might be worth visiting, and hiking along the Circle Trail is nice fun. Near Four Base Lake you find Nary Draw which is a perfect spot to visit, and Haviland Lake Dam is a pretty spot, certainly worth stopping at. Just can't get enough of the San Juan Mountains. If you need a spot to stay Cascade Village is a delightful

| | choice. There's so much to do here at Four Base Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Haviland Lake Campground is a tremendous spot for that.
This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Four Base Lake you will meet lots of people from close by Durango, and you can have a nice hiking adventure along the Goodhope Stock Driveway. Four Base Lake is right by the Highline Trail, and get your heart beating on the great whitewater of Animas River. All | |

Four Base Lake is a beautiful lake in the San Juan Mountains. And that's not all the things to do here in the San Juan Mountains.
If you like skiing, you're in luck; Kendall Mountain is right next door to Four Base Lake; if you came to camp Durango Koa Kampground is a great place to do that. Tamarron Resort is a perfect place to get some rest, and you can run
the rapids of Canyon Creek.

is just what you need. From a precipitation point of view Four Base Lake is a quite typical location; through August this area sees the most rain; June is when it's the driest. Summertime highs at Four Base Lake usually tend to be
in the 70's. Summer overnight lows drop down to the 30's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's with temperatures at Four Base Lake dipping down into the 0's through winter nights.
