High temperatures at Foster Reservoir throughout the days of summer are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's, and overnight       lows through the winter for Foster Reservoir tend to be in the 10's. Foster Reservoir is pretty dried out mostly; the wettest month of the year is commonly May, that's the one that rains the most; the driest of the months is January. This lake is so wonderful. A good place to camp here at Foster Reservoir is Fireside Camper Park, and a pleasant nearby hotel is Niwot Inn. Life's too short to enjoy all the amusing stuff close to Foster Reservoir. You don’t have                  to go far from Foster Reservoir to observe the water at Hertha Dam; you're sure to come across some cheerful people from Fort Collins-Loveland here. The Jug Trail is a great hiking trail near Foster Reservoir, and the panoramas at Rocky Mountain National Park will blow your mind. Camping is available at Carter Valley Campgrounds, and Saint Vrain Creek - North is a wonderful whitewater spot nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Near Foster Reservoir you hit upon the Crosier Mountain Trail which is a glorious hiking trail.
