    Fossil Creek Reservoir is a very beautiful lake in beautiful surroundings. Any time is a fine time at Fossil Creek Reservoir if you go for the outdoors. Lakes are such peaceful locations, why not check out Nelson Reservoir in the neighborhood of Fossil Creek Reservoir, and if you need a location to stay Americinn - Fort Collins/Windsor, Co is a good choice. In the event that you don't mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Big Thompson  
   River; a fine nearby hotel is Cambria Suites Fort Collins. This lake is so wonderful. If you came for an overnight stay Loveland RV Village Campground is a brilliant place to camp; while you're here you will meet lots of folks from close by Fort Collins-Loveland.
Why not camp at Boyd Lake if you're here at Fossil Creek Reservoir. A great spot for whitewater paddling right next door to Fossil Creek Reservoir is Cache La Poudre River, and Ptarmigan Country
 
               Club is a golf course nearby. During the summer, highs usually are in the 80's at Fossil Creek Reservoir, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's, and overnight lows in the 10's for Fossil Creek Reservoir.
Fossil Creek Reservoir is a location that is reasonably dried up frequently; May is when you get the most rain here; February is when it's the driest. Swede Lake is a perfect lake near Fossil Creek Reservoir, and not far from Fossil Creek Reservoir you get some wonderful water scenery at Fossil Creek Dam.

Watson is beautiful. You do need a wilderness habitat stamp to be there, but that is included with your fishing license. It is closed to boating, except float tubes. The river (poudre) runs along the east side of the lake so even for casual recreation or non fishing activities it is a picteresque spot. There are two handicapped/wheelchair accessible fishing docks, and the trail by the river is also wheelchair friendly....
