     This lake is so wonderful. Purgatory Lodge by Durango Mountain Resorts is a good location to get some rest, and don't leave Forebay Lake without first going for a hike along the Goodhope Stock Driveway. Summertime highs at Forebay Lake mostly tend to be in the 70's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 30's. During the winter highs are in the 30's; overnight lows all through the winter for Forebay Lake tend to be in  
   the 0's. Be careful coming to the San Juan and Jemez Mountains, you might not ever wanna return home again. There are some delightful whitewater spots on Animas River, and Nary Draw is a good site to take a look at.
You just can't envision the amount of outdoors exciting stuff the area in the neighborhood of Forebay Lake has to offer. The snow is fine at Kendall Mountain. There's whitewater on Canyon Creek for all you adrenaline kick people, and there's some
 
               attention-grabbing stuff to see at Haviland Lake Dam in the neighborhood of Forebay Lake. The amount of rain that falls at Forebay Lake is close to the national average; throughout the month of August you get the most rain around here, and June on the other hand is the driest.
Going for a hike on the Highline Trail is always a great adventure, and if you're stopping by from Durango, you won't be the only one. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Lodge at Tamarron is a fine choice; why not head up to Silverton and strap some skis to your feet. There's so much to do here at Forebay Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Durango Koa Kampground is a perfect site for that; don't forget to take a great little visit to Canyon Creek.
Forebay Lake is located in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Forebay Lake in fact is in the middle of a lovely outdoors paradise. A lake nearby is Haviland Lake, and you can stay the night at Haviland Lake Campground. That right there is loads of exciting things already but it goes on, the San Juan and Jemez Mountains has it all. There are good places to explore along the Circle Trail, and Four Base Lake is a nearby lake that you could explore.
