All the outdoors enjoyable stuff in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains will keep you coming back over and over. There is a brilliant hiking trail next to Forbes Park Lake called the Peaks Trail, and a great place close by is Sawmill Canyon. At Forbes Park Lake you don’t see much rainfall; of all the months in a year August is the one       with the most rain while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. An exciting thing to pop by next to Forbes Park Lake is Forbes Park Dam, and everybody loves Indian Park. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Forbes Park Lake you can take a hike along the Indian Creek Trail. What a location this is for outdoors people. Bear Lake Campground is a pleasant campground nearby, and since you're here, you could also go to striking Rock                  Lake. Yeah, come up here to the Sangre De Cristo Mountains for a great time. Forbes Park Lake is a brilliant place to visit for more than one day, Blue Lakes Campground is a brilliant place to camp nearby, and dry warm beds await you at Knights Inn Walsenburg. Throughout the warm months at Forbes Park Lake temperatures are frequently in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 50's. Daytime highs throughout the winter are in the 30's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Forbes Park Lake temperatures descend to the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. On a pleasant day at Forbes Park Lake you can take a hike along the Indian Trail; the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Eldora.
