Whitewater paddling is great on Dolores River; if you're looking for a magnificent journey, Hovenweep National Monument is reasonably near. Ferris Reservoir gets very little rain; the month with most of the rain is October; the driest month is June. This lake is so wonderful. On a good day at Ferris Reservoir you can take a hike along the Ormiston Point Stock Driveway, and camping at Mc Phee Mobile Home and RV Park is always a tremendous experience. You'll find

| | a picturesque lake called Horsetooth Reservoir near Ferris Reservoir, and since you're here you can take a hike along the McPhee Stock Trail. If you need a place to stay Dunton Hot Springs is a great choice It's always pleasant to check out Ferris Spring. This lake is so wonderful. A good close by hotel is Days Inn Cortez, and camping is available at Cozy Comfort RV Park and Mountain Retreat. Summertime highs at Ferris Reservoir frequently tend to be | |

in the 80's with overnight lows in the 50's. Highs throughout the wintertime are usually in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Ferris Reservoir are in the 10's. So much exciting stuff to do here at Ferris Reservoir, too great
to be true. A delightful lake like Dry Lake Reservoir next to Ferris Reservoir is a pleasant place to explore, and the Stoner Stock Trail is a glorious hiking trail nearby.

La Mesa RV Park
 | 17 miles away We stayed in this campground mid-July 2006. Very efficient, friendly park. Adequate power, water, and sewage hookups. Rates were reasonable; and the manager did indicate that longer stays were discounted. Nice fenced dog run for our puppies to enjoy. The microbrewery in town has a wide selection of locally made beverages. I would gladly stop at La Mesa RV Park again.... |
Puett Reservoir
 | 18 miles away A.M. Puett Reservoir was originally constructed in 1905, and then reconstructed in 1960. It contains 163 surface acres when full and is owned and operated by the Summit Reservoir and Irrigation Company. The lake is stocked with fish by the Colorado Division of Wildlife and open for public fishing from the bank and from trolling motor powered boats. No swimming is allowed. The lake is on private land and access is limited to 3 feet above the high water line.... |
Summit Reservoir
 | 19 miles away Summit Lake was constructed in 1905 and reconstructed and enlarged in 1938. It is owned and operated by the Summit Reservoir and Irrigation Company. It contains 402 surfqace acres when full. The lake is stocked with fish by the Colorado Division of Wildlife (DOW) and open for public fishing. Public access is from highway 184 on the north side of the lake. There is a boat ramp. Fishing is allowed from the bank or from hand powered or trolling motor powered boats only. The public access is maintained by the DOW. The only facilities present is a boat ramp and a pit toilet. No fires, swimming or overnight camping is allowed.... |
