You truly should go for the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Dry warm beds await you at Best Western Rambler, and a day on the slopes of Eldora is just what you need. Throughout the warmest time of the year highs here at Farr Lake get into the 80's, and the overnight is rather colder of course, ordinarily in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's with temperatures at Farr       Lake dipping down into the 0's during winter nights. Lakes are such calm places, why not stop at Farr Lake in close proximity to Farr Lake; hey, Mayne Arroyo is a perfect local stream. At Farr Lake you don’t see much rain; August is the month that gets the most rain, and January is when it's the driest. What a spot this is for outdoors people. If you need a place to stay Knights Inn Walsenburg is a pleasant choice, and a wonderful lake like Levy Reservoir                  is a fine site to go to. Man, is there lots of enjoyable stuff to do in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Farr Lake has to offer, you can camp at Dakota Campground; the Wahatoya Trail is a nice hiking trail close by. Chapman Reservoir Dam is not far at all from Farr Lake.
