Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this place. Why not camp at Pitkin Campground since you're here at Fairview Lake, and you're most likely hooked on lakes, Jackson Lake is one of those nearby. Around Fairview Lake you don’t get a lot of rain; the month with most of the snow is December while June is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
At Fairview Lake you can distinguish Fairview Peak, and you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing

at Monarch since you're here. During the warmest time of the year at Fairview Lake highs are mostly in the 70's, and the overnight is a bit chillier of course, ordinarily in the 30's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's with winter lows in the-10's overnight here at Fairview Lake. But wait, there's more enjoyable things to do in the Sawatch Range. The Gold Creek Union Park Trail is a wonderful hiking trail close to Fairview Lake, and do pay a visit to Black Canyon Of The Gunnison National Park while you're here at Fairview Lake.
Soar down the rapids of Taylor River in a kayak; going for a hike on the Onemile Trail is always a tremendous adventure.

Mosca Campground
14 miles away
We've camped here since our now 40ish childrlen were young. They are now taking their children there. Mosca is beautiful both to the eye and the heart. It is a little more difficult now that there is no potable water, but one can use lake water for dishes, and must bring in drinking and cooking water.Fishing is great - the deer put on a show eve4ry night. The camp hostess, Mary, is there is to help you with problems, and to give great advice.Other than the water problem, this is the greatest camp ground I've ever occupied!...

...ural snow (350+ inches) and friendly people are two of our strongest attributes. You can walk from your car right to the lifts, prices are reasonable, and the runs flow naturally back to the base area. At Monarch you'll lose the crowds but not your friends.
Monarch is a family favorite because of great snow conditions and easy access to the mountain. Having one base area makes it convenient to drop off the little ones in the Children's Center, pick-up rental equipment, sign up for ski school and get on the slopes in a timely manner. Lift lines are a rarity and you will regularly find ski runs to yourself.
Looking for great powder, spectacular views, 1000+ acres of expert terrain, steeps, trees, cliffs, and bowls? You found it with Monarch Mountain. Check out the 130 acres of hike-to terrain in Mirkwood Basin from the top of the Breezeway Lift. Monarch Mountain Snowcat Tours offers some of the best Snowcat skiing in the state-guests enjoy skiing/riding in closely spaced trees, variable snow conditions and extremely steep slopes.
At the base of Monarch Pass lies the sunny A...
