     Hiking is a popular thing to do around Fairmont Park Reservoir; East Leon Trail is a tremendous local trail; a picturesque lake like Miller Reservoir is a glorious place to stop by. Stay the night at Weir and Johnson Campground, and you'll hit upon a pretty lake called Pine Cone Reservoir. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Elk Park Trail. It is very dehydrated here at Fairmont Park Reservoir ordinarily; during the month of March you get the most rain  
   around here, and June is the month with the least moisture.
You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the enjoyable stuff at Fairmont Park Reservoir. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Fairmont Park Reservoir has to offer, you can camp at Twin Lake Campground, and Mount Hatten can be observed from Fairmont Park Reservoir. At Fairmont Park Reservoir during the summertime highs are in the 80's while night lows are mostly in the 50's. Highs
 
               during the winter are ordinarily in the 30's, and overnight lows in the 0's for Fairmont Park Reservoir. This lake is so wonderful. There's wonderful hiking along the Monument Trail, and if you need a place to stay La Quinta Inn & Suites Rifle is a great choice.

Hiked into Crater Lake on 6/23/07. Caught three 12' cutthroat trout, and had a much larger trout strike my lure a couple of times (not hard enough for me to set the hook). Beautiful place, but the mosquitos ate me alive....
