Man, is there a load of exciting stuff to do in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Eureka Lake; Loop Trail is a great local trail; do set aside some time for Groundhog Basin while you're here at Eureka Lake. Phantom Terrace is something you shouldn't miss while you're here at Eureka Lake, and Hermit Pass is a good spot to check out. This lake is so wonderful.       During the summer here at Eureka Lake, high temperatures frequently get into the 80's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's while the cold winter nights at Eureka Lake are in the 0's. That right there is a load already, but it goes on; Eureka Lake has it all. Stay the night at North Crestone Campground; an afternoon playing golf at Challenger Golf Club is always a joy. Eureka Lake                  is one of the lakes here in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. There's wonderful hiking along the Rito Alto Trail. There's so much to do here at Eureka Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Lake Creek Campground is a wonderful location for that. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Hermit Lake Trail, and needless to say, all our national parks are glorious spots to stop by and Great Sand Dunes National Monument is no exception. So many entertaining things to do here in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains, too tremendous to be true. Eureka Mountain is trouble-free to spot from Eureka Lake; there are other sites here than Eureka Lake, for example Goodwin Lakes.
