     Now, you may believe that's a load but there's even more amusing things to do here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Parson Lake is a nearby lake that you could stop at, and great hiking is available along the Greyhound Pack Trail. Skiing at Silverton is one of those things you just ought to do; if you come at the right time of year, Mineral Creek - South offers some great whitewater. And if that's not sufficient there's a lot more enjoyable stuff to do in the  
   San Juan and Jemez Mountains. If you came for an overnight stay Silver Summit RV Park And Jeep Rentals is a wonderful place to camp, and if you crave a little side trip, try Parron Gulch.
This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Lake Emma, you could also pop by gorgeous Lake Como, and a tremendous close by hotel is St.Elmo Hotel. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Lake Emma without first going for a hike along the Bear Creek Trail, and if you
 
               need a place to stay Best Western Twin Peaks Lodge & Hot Springs is a nice choice. This lake is located in the wonderful San Juan and Jemez Mountains.
Any time is a great time at Lake Emma if you love the outdoors. Bonita Peak is a peak you can distinguish from Lake Emma, and a pleasant journey to Alaska Basin is a magnificent way to spend an afternoon. Lake Emma is pretty arid mostly; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain; June is when it's the driest. There are some wonderful whitewater spots on Lime Creek, and you can never get enough of the great skiing at Kendall Mountain.
There's just no way anybody can get bored here at Lake Emma. Camping is available at Silverton Lakes Campground, and there's great hiking along the Horsethief Trail. For the period of the summertime months highs here at Lake Emma reach the 70's, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's, and night lows at Lake Emma during the winter ordinarily sink into the 10's.
