     This lake is so wonderful. The snow is good at Silverton, and a tremendous site to camp here at Emerald Lake is Bear Creek Campground. Summer at Emerald Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 70's. During the moonlight hours it's typically in the 40's. All through the winter highs are in the 30's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Emerald Lake temperatures drop to the 0's. You could also stop at Ruby Lake if you're here at Emerald Lake;  
   it's nearby, and if you like skiing, you're in luck; Kendall Mountain is quite near.
Around Emerald Lake you don’t get a lot of precipitation; the month with most of the rain is August, and June is the month with the least moisture. You truly ought to adore the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. If you're here at Emerald Lake, you could check out New York Creek, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Animas River. This lake is so wonderful. If the weather is wonderful,
 
               you obtain a tremendous vista of Lime Mesa from Emerald Lake; good hiking is available along the Highline Trail.

Overlook Point is an interesting location to check out while at Emerald Lake, and camping is available at Transfer Park Campground. This lake is one of the great places here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains.
