If you are in this part of Colorado make sure to pay a visit to Emerald Lake. There's so much to do here at Emerald Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Transfer Park Campground is a great site for that; the view of Lime Mesa is delightful. Hiking along the Deer Park Trail is brilliant fun; whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Canyon Creek. So much cool stuff to do here in the San Juan Mountains, too glorious

Emerald Lake. Some of the water close by flows, like New York Creek, and if you need a place to stay Purgatory Village Condominium Hotel is a glorious choice. For the duration of the warmest time of the year highs here at Emerald
Lake reach the 70's, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. During the winter the highs are frequently in the 30's, and overnight lows through the wintertime for Emerald Lake tend to be in the 0's. The San
Juan Mountains scenery is always beautiful. This lake is so wonderful. There are some tremendous whitewater spots on Animas River; you can have a good hiking adventure along the Highline Trail.
