Get dripping wet paddling on Colorado River, and from Elk Lakes you get a good sight of Blair Mountain. A perfect close by hotel is Quality Inn & Suites, and a gorgeous lake like Adams Lake is a pleasant location to stop at. This place is excellent, just check out all the entertaining stuff to do in the vicinity of Elk Lakes. Near Elk Lakes you discover the Oyster Lake Trail which is a great hiking trail,       and Clarion Collection Glenwood Springs is a tremendous site to get some rest. Going for a hike on the Fayville Trail is always a glorious adventure, and you'll find a wonderful lake called Jet Lake. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Sunlight Mountain, and camping is available at Bison Lake Campground. Elk Lakes is pretty dry frequently; the month of October is the wettest with most of the rain, and February is when it's the driest.                  This lake is so wonderful. During the warm days of summer, highs commonly are in the 80's at Elk Lakes. Summer overnight lows descend down to the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's; through the dark hours in the winter at Elk Lakes temperatures descend to the 0's. This lake is so wonderful.
