South Platte River has a tremendous whitewater paddling spot close by, and dry warm beds await you at Country Lodge. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Elk Lake Number 1. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 40's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 40's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at       Elk Lake Number 1 descend into the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. Magnuson Reservoir Number 1 is a splendid lake in the vicinity of Elk Lake Number 1. Be careful coming to the Front Range, you might not ever want to return home again. The summit of Twin Rocks can be seen from Elk Lake Number 1. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Elk Lake Number 1 has to offer, you can camp at Alpine Lakes Resort. This lake is so wonderful. Florissant Fossil                  Beds National Monument is a brilliant national park, and if the weather is splendid, you can go for a hike along the Phantom Creek Trail. Elk Lake Number 1 is one of the lakes here in the Front Range. Don't you try to stop me, cause I'm havin' a magnificent time here at Elk Lake Number 1. Paddling on South Platte River is so much fun, and there are other locations here than Elk Lake Number 1, for example Shadow Lake Reservoir. Stay the night at Golden Bell Camp & Conference, and on a great day you can take a hike along the Rule Ridge Trail. If you need a site to stay The Cliff House Hotel at Pikes Peak is a fine choice, and the Rule Creek Trail is a magnificent hiking trail close by.
