If you are in Ouray county it's always a good idea to stop by Elephant Reservoir. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Telluride; a good vista of pretty Burnt Mill Mesa is available. Around Elephant Reservoir you don’t get a lot of rain; July is the month that gets the most rain while June is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. Canyon Trails Inn is a glorious place to get some rest, and if the weather is perfect, you can go for a hike along the Alder Creek Trail. All the outdoors amusing things in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains will keep you coming back again and again. A spree to Hunter Park revives the spirit; hiking along the Dallas Trail is good fun. If you want a brilliant time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Elephant
Reservoir. A visit to Danforth Spring will fill your soul with pleasant feelings, and if you came for an overnight stay Country Village RV Ranch Park is a great place to camp. A fine nearby hotel is Quality Inn & Suites; camping is
available at Centennial RV Park. This lake is so wonderful. Near Elephant Reservoir you come across a golf course called Fairway Pines Golf Club, and why not head up to Silverton and strap some skis to your feet.
Elephant Reservoir
is one of the lakes here in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. For the duration of the warmest time of the year, highs ordinarily are in the 90's at Elephant Reservoir; during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The wintertime
comes with highs in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Elephant Reservoir. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. A brilliant site to stop at in the neighborhood of Elephant Reservoir is Pleasant Valley, and San Miguel River is a splendid whitewater spot close by.
