     This lake is so wonderful. Uncompahgre River has a great whitewater paddling spot close by, and on a wonderful day you get a glorious panorama of Burnt Mill Mesa from Elephant Reservoir. Camping at Country Village RV Ranch Park is always a brilliant experience, and whitewater paddling is splendid on San Miguel River. Whohoo, so many entertaining things in one place! The Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains is so good! If you need a place to stay The Hotel Telluride  
   is a great choice, and a short trip to Danforth Spring is always worthwhile.
During the warmest time of the year at Elephant Reservoir temperatures are ordinarily in the 90's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 50's. High temperatures during the wintertime are normally in the 30's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Elephant Reservoir sink into the 10's. There's nice hiking along the Alder Creek Trail, and in the neighborhood
 
               of Elephant Reservoir you stumble on a golf course called Fairway Pines Golf Club. A nice nearby hotel is The Victorian Inn; as expected, this is a magnificent region for folks who like lakes, Natural Pond is a lake around here.
The Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains scenery is always beautiful. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors entertaining stuff the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains has to offer. Head up to Silverton and strap some skis to your feet; Elephant Reservoir is wonderful enough to spend more than a day at, Centennial RV Park is a wonderful local campground. Just can't get enough of Elephant Reservoir. Don't leave Elephant Reservoir without first going for a hike along the Blue Lakes Trail, and the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Telluride.
Having a fine time in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains is trouble-free. Hunter Park is a glorious spot to stretch your legs a bit. But wait, there's more to do in the neighborhood of Elephant Reservoir. Go for a hike on the Dallas Trail. Lakes are magnificent; Dry Lake is a lake that's in close proximity to Elephant Reservoir. This lake is so wonderful. Pleasant Valley is a good site to visit close by, and if you're interested in hydro structures, you can check out Elephant Dam.
It is very dried out here at Elephant Reservoir regularly; the wettest month of the year is generally July, that's the one that rains the most; the driest of the months is June.
