    Many people like to go to Electra Lake. Electra Lake is brilliant enough to spend more than a day at, Purgatory Campground is a brilliant local campground; the Goodhope Stock Driveway is a good hiking trail close by. Electra Lake is one of the lakes here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Electra Lake truly is in the middle of a wonderful outdoors paradise. If the weather is splendid here at Electra Lake, you can go for a hike along the Circle Trail; there's  
   some attention-grabbing stuff to make out at Terminal Dam in the neighborhood of Electra Lake.
While you're here at Electra Lake you can take a hike along the Highline Trail. There's so much to do here at Electra Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Haviland Lake Campground is a pleasant place for that. The annual rainfall here at Electra Lake is about average; August is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month of the year is June.
 
               Dry warm beds await you at Tamarron Resort.
This lake is so wonderful. In case you don’t mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Animas River; if you wish for a little side trip, try Nary Draw. So many exciting things in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains, just tremendous. Whitewater paddling is brilliant on Canyon Creek, and why not a little side journey to Elbert Creek. At Electra Lake through the months of summer highs are in the 70's while night lows are usually in the 30's. Through the winter highs are in the 30's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Electra Lake.
Life's too short to enjoy all the exciting stuff in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Gotta ski! Silverton is a perfect spot to do that; there are plenty of people from Durango here. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Lodge at Tamarron is a good place to spend a night or two, and what would winter be without some skiing at Kendall Mountain.
