Many people like to go to Lake Edward. After a long day outdoors Village at Steamboat is a wonderful site to spend a night or two; paddling on Elk River is so much fun. This lake is so wonderful. There is a tremendous hiking trail in the neighborhood of Lake Edward called the Swamp Park Trail, and whitewater paddling is good on Elk River. This lake is so wonderful. | | along the Luna Lake Trail.
And if that's not sufficient there's plenty more amusing things to do in the Park Range. A great close by hotel is Western Lodge, and camping is available at Summit Lake Campground. The Big Creek Lake Trail is a fine hiking trail close to Lake Edward, and a great place to camp here at Lake Edward is Dry Lake Campground. is a good lake right next door to Lake Edward; at Lake Edward you can see Horse Thief Peak.
The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Howelsen Hill. And if that's not enough, there's a heap more to do next
to Lake Edward. Horse Thief Park is right here at Lake Edward, and it's a tremendous idea to visit East Branch South Fork Mad Creek. Lake Edward is a beautiful lake in the Park Range.
Lake Edward is pretty dry ordinarily; December
is the wettest month with most snow; the driest of the months is August. All through the warmest time of the year at Lake Edward highs are generally in the 80's. Summer nighttime lows drop down to the 40's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Lake Edward are in the-10's.
