Near Ed Joe Reservoir you come across the Telephone Draw Trail which is a nice hiking trail, and unsurprisingly Goshorn Creek is a pretty stream that is worth a visit. This lake is so wonderful. There is a fine hiking trail close to Ed Joe Reservoir called the Horsefly Trail, and a magnificent place to camp here at Ed Joe Reservoir is Miramonte Reservoir       Campground. If only every location had this much outdoors cool stuff, what a great earth it would be. Going for a hike on the Cottonwood Trail is always a good adventure, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend San Miguel River. Throughout the summertime, highs commonly are in the 80's at Ed Joe Reservoir. During the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 40's. High temperatures through the winter                  are normally in the 30's; after the sun is down all through the winter temperatures at Ed Joe Reservoir plunge into the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Fairmont Franz Klammer Lodge. Don't leave Ed Joe Reservoir without first paying a visit to Cy Orr Spring, and a nice site is Allen Draw. Around Ed Joe Reservoir you don’t get a lot of rainfall; the month with most of the rain is July while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
