You'll find a wonderful lake called East Lake Number 3 near Eagle Lake, and Sleep Inn Thornton is a magnificent site to get some rest. All through the summertime months at Eagle Lake highs are frequently in the 80's. Summer overnight lows plunge down to the 50's. Through the winter this place gets highs in the 40's; all through the dark hours in the winter at Eagle Lake temperatures descend to the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. There are some magnificent whitewater
spots on South Platte River; you don’t have to go far from Eagle Lake to catch a sight of the water at Hartley Dam.

Rocky Mountain Lake
| Good fishing here if you are willing to experiment. Limited shoreline access because of the weed structures but those weeds hold good size bass. I have found it easy to catch 10-14 inch largemouth in the open spots with plastic worms and surface lures. I have only fished there four times as of this writing (07/13/2007) but have enjoyed each visit. My best fish so far was a 17'' largemouth caught on a Jitterbug. Take the kids!... |

Is there a way to join the Baseline Recreation Group?...How do you get in touch with the Denver Boat Club?...Is there a way to join the Baseline Res Group? ...Is it possible to obtain a membership to kayak or canoe on the lake?...Baseline Res is the city of Lafayette?s water supply. The Denver Boat Club rents it from the city so they can water ski. The Baseline Res Group is a group of 250 families that rent a corner of the lake from the Denver Boat Club. If you want to use this lake you MUST be a guest of one of these groups. Since it is a water supply these groups are obligated to follow strict rules. They cannot allow anyone to just hop the fence and play because their privileges will be taken away. Someone is always watching the lake including the City of Lafayette watching the two clubs activities.... |
