This lake is located in the wonderful San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Dry warm beds await you at Lodge at Tamarron, obviously you could also check out Lake Marie if you're here; it's not far at all. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Animas River; while you're here why not pop by Crystal Valley. At Durango Reservoir Number 1 through the months of summer highs are in the 70's while nighttime lows are typically in the 40's.

Durango Reservoir Number 1 is not the only spot nearby, City Reservoir is a nearby lake. This spot, the San Juan and Jemez Mountains, has so much outdoors fun things. There's tremendous hiking along the Deer Park Trail, and a
day on the slopes of Silverton is just what you need. Just can't get enough of Durango Reservoir Number 1. Don't leave Durango Reservoir Number 1 without first going for a hike along the Whitehead Trail, and if you like skiing, you're
in luck; Kendall Mountain is rather near. This lake is so wonderful. There are some fine whitewater spots on Vallecito Creek; if you came to camp Vallecito Campground is a nice spot to do that.
