And if that's not enough, there's a heap more to do close to Durango Reservoir Number 1. There's whitewater on Animas River for all you adrenaline rush seekers, and Silverton is a very popular ski area in the neighborhood. Durango Reservoir Number 1 gets very little rainfall; during August this area sees the most rain, and June is when it's the driest. Man, is there a lot of fun things to do in the San       Juan Mountains. Have a magnificent hiking adventure along the Highline Trail, and Cascade Village is a splendid place to get some rest. Summertime brings highs in the 70's to Durango Reservoir Number 1. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Durango Reservoir Number 1. Lakes are perfect; City Reservoir is a lake that's near Durango Reservoir Number                  1, and there are some brilliant whitewater spots on Vallecito Creek. A fine place to camp here at Durango Reservoir Number 1 is Blue Spruce Trailer Park; a good close by hotel is Tamarron Resort. This lake is so wonderful. Lower Park is a good spot to check out, and do take a hike on the Whitehead Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking along the Deer Park Trail is good fun; the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Kendall Mountain. And if you're still looking for more outdoors entertaining things just keep reading. You just have to fancy the San Juan Mountains. Camping at Vallecito Campground is always a wonderful experience; at Durango Reservoir Number 1 you can see Endlich Mesa. Durango Reservoir Number 1 is not far at all from Durango, and since you're here, you might as well pop by Crystal Valley.
