A lake nearby is Coal Spring Reservoir, and a visit to Dunham Reservoir wouldn't be complete without taking a look at Dry Canyon Spring. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Dunham Reservoir you can take a hike along the Ormiston Point Stock Driveway, and dry warm beds await you at Dunton Hot Springs. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors enjoyable stuff the area near Dunham Reservoir has to offer. There's whitewater on Dolores River for all you adrenaline people, and on a wonderful day you can take a hike along the Stoner Stock Trail. This lake is so wonderful. If you get bored of Dunham Reservoir, you could also stop at nearby Dunham Number Two Reservoir. | |

A wonderful place to camp here at Dunham Reservoir is Mc Phee Mobile Home and RV Park, and going for a hike along the McPhee Stock Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. Why not camp at Cozy Comfort RV Park and
Mountain Retreat while you're here at Dunham Reservoir, and Mesa Verde National Park is a wonderful local destination. Around Dunham Reservoir you don’t get a lot of rain; the month with most of the rain is October while June
is frequently the driest month. You can run the rapids of Dolores River right next door to Dunham Reservoir, and if you need a place to stay Days Inn Cortez is a splendid choice.

Puett Reservoir
 | 13 miles away A.M. Puett Reservoir was originally constructed in 1905, and then reconstructed in 1960. It contains 163 surface acres when full and is owned and operated by the Summit Reservoir and Irrigation Company. The lake is stocked with fish by the Colorado Division of Wildlife and open for public fishing from the bank and from trolling motor powered boats. No swimming is allowed. The lake is on private land and access is limited to 3 feet above the high water line.... |

 | 14 miles away We stayed in this campground mid-July 2006. Very efficient, friendly park. Adequate power, water, and sewage hookups. Rates were reasonable; and the manager did indicate that longer stays were discounted. Nice fenced dog run for our puppies to enjoy. The microbrewery in town has a wide selection of locally made beverages. I would gladly stop at La Mesa RV Park again.... |
Summit Reservoir
 | 14 miles away Summit Lake was constructed in 1905 and reconstructed and enlarged in 1938. It is owned and operated by the Summit Reservoir and Irrigation Company. It contains 402 surfqace acres when full. The lake is stocked with fish by the Colorado Division of Wildlife (DOW) and open for public fishing. Public access is from highway 184 on the north side of the lake. There is a boat ramp. Fishing is allowed from the bank or from hand powered or trolling motor powered boats only. The public access is maintained by the DOW. The only facilities present is a boat ramp and a pit toilet. No fires, swimming or overnight camping is allowed.... |
