Stay the night at Riverwood Inn & Recreational Vehicle Park, and the Long Gulch Trail is a brilliant hiking trail close by. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is nice on Escalante Creek, and after a long day outdoors Comfort Inn Delta is a perfect spot to spend a night or two. There       is a glorious hiking trail in close proximity to Dry Mesa Reservoir Number 2 called the Gunnison Trail, and Best Western Sundance is a good location to get some rest. So much cool stuff to do here in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains, too good to be true. You'll meet a lot of people from Montrose here, and Smokehouse Campground is a magnificent campground nearby. During the warm days of summer, highs commonly are in the 90's at Dry Mesa Reservoir Number 2, and                  the nighttime is fairly cooler of course, typically in the 60's. Daytime highs all through the wintertime are in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Dry Mesa Reservoir Number 2 are in the 10's. Dry Mesa Reservoir Number 2 is located in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains.
