Dry Lakes is located in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Dry Lakes is pretty dried up usually; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain, and January is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. There is a splendid hiking trail close to Dry Lakes called the Rito Alto Trail, and not far from Dry Lakes you'll discover Horn Lakes which is a lovely lake. Through the summertime       months highs here at Dry Lakes reach the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 40's. Throughout the winter highs are ordinarily in the 30's, and nighttime lows at Dry Lakes through the wintertime frequently drop into the 0's. You'll truly wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the exciting stuff in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Camping at Grape Creek RV Park and Campground is always a tremendous experience, and a visit to Macey Falls will fill                  your spirit with good feelings. Now, you may think that's heaps but there's even more entertaining stuff to do here at Dry Lakes. At Dry Lakes you can distinguish Mount Adams; Dry Lakes sits in the shade of the Sangre De Cristo Range. If the weather is tremendous here at Dry Lakes, you can go for a hike along the Venable-Comanche Trail, and what would a place like Dry Lakes be without out of the ordinary nearby marks like Copperstain Cliff. This lake is so wonderful. That right there is heaps of exciting stuff already but it goes on, the Sangre De Cristo Mountains has it all. On a nice day at Dry Lakes you can take a hike along the Loop Trail, and Great Sand Dunes National Monument is a glorious national park. Lakes?
