This lake is one of the great places here in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. But wait, there's more amusing things to do in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Lakes? Sure, Comanche Lake is close by, and why not camp at North Crestone Campground since you're here at Dry Lakes. This lake is so wonderful. The Rito Alto Trail is a pleasant hiking trail in close proximity to Dry Lakes, and camping at Dry Lakes is good fun,       Cross D Bar Trout Ranch is a good local campground. Dry Lakes sits in the shade of the Sangre De Cristo Range, and going for a hike along the Venable-Comanche Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. What would a location like Dry Lakes be without attention-grabbing close by characteristics like Copperstain Cliff, and Macey Falls is a fine local attraction. Around Dry Lakes you don’t get a lot of precipitation; throughout the month of August                  you get the most rain around here; the driest month is January. What a place this is for outdoors people. On a pretty day you get a vista of Mount Adams from Dry Lakes, and if the weather is brilliant, you can go for a hike along the Loop Trail. High temperatures at Dry Lakes during the warm days of summer are in the 80's with overnight lows in the 40's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's; after the sun is down throughout the winter temperatures at Dry Lakes dip into the 0's. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Sangre De Cristo Mountains.
