There are splendid places to explore along the Ute Trail; if you need a spot to stay Inn of the Rio Grande Hotel and Conference Ctr is a splendid choice. The vistas at Great Sand Dunes National Monument will blow your mind. Not much rainfall falls here at Dry Lakes; the wettest month of the year is frequently July, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month is January. Going for a hike on the Huerfano Trail       is always a splendid adventure, and you can stay the night at Alamosa Koa Kampground. This lake is so wonderful. Dry Lakes is a great place to camp, San Luis Lakes is a great place, and a great close by hotel is Alamosa-Days Inn. During the months of summer, highs usually are in the 80's at Dry Lakes while nighttime lows are frequently in the 40's.
