     Cozy Comfort RV Park and Mountain Retreat is a magnificent local campground, and there are other sites here than Dry Canyon Spring Reservoir, for example Tozer Number One Reservoir. Summertime highs at Dry Canyon Spring Reservoir mostly tend to be in the 80's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 50's. Throughout the wintertime the highs are ordinarily in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Dry Canyon Spring Reservoir are  
   in the 10's. At Dry Canyon Spring Reservoir you don’t see much rain; throughout October this area sees the most rain, and June is when it's the driest. Visiting Hovenweep National Monument is just something you need to do if you haven't yet; a good close by hotel is Days Inn Cortez.

               Stock Trail; the beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Hoppe Point Spring. In case you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Dolores River; not far from Dry Canyon Spring Reservoir you'll stumble on Calf Reservoir which is a wonderful lake. This lake is so wonderful.
The Stoner Stock Trail is a good hiking trail right next door to Dry Canyon Spring Reservoir, and if you need a spot to stay Dunton Hot Springs is a good choice. This lake is so wonderful. On a splendid day at Dry Canyon Spring Reservoir you can take a hike along the Ormiston Point Stock Driveway, and why not camp at Mc Phee Mobile Home and RV Park while you're here at Dry Canyon Spring Reservoir.

La Mesa RV Park

We stayed in this campground mid-July 2006. Very efficient, friendly park. Adequate power, water, and sewage hookups. Rates were reasonable; and the manager did indicate that longer stays were discounted. Nice fenced dog run for our puppies to enjoy. The microbrewery in town has a wide selection of locally made beverages. I would gladly stop at La Mesa RV Park again....

Puett Reservoir

A.M. Puett Reservoir was originally constructed in 1905, and then reconstructed in 1960. It contains 163 surface acres when full and is owned and operated by the Summit Reservoir and Irrigation Company. The lake is stocked with fish by the Colorado Division of Wildlife and open for public fishing from the bank and from trolling motor powered boats. No swimming is allowed. The lake is on private land and access is limited to 3 feet above the high water line....

Summit Reservoir

Summit Lake was constructed in 1905 and reconstructed and enlarged in 1938. It is owned and operated by the Summit Reservoir and Irrigation Company. It contains 402 surfqace acres when full. The lake is stocked with fish by the Colorado Division of Wildlife (DOW) and open for public fishing. Public access is from highway 184 on the north side of the lake. There is a boat ramp. Fishing is allowed from the bank or from hand powered or trolling motor powered boats only. The public access is maintained by the DOW. The only facilities present is a boat ramp and a pit toilet. No fires, swimming or overnight camping is allowed....
