If you are traveling by, why not stop by Drift Fence Reservoir. This is a magnificent area for folks who like lakes. Bald Hill Reservoir is a lake in close proximity, and if you haven’t been to Mesa Verde National Park, you have to schedule some time for it if you're here. and on a delightful day you can take a hike along the Stoner Mesa Trail.
Lakes are tremendous; Rocky Draw Number One Reservoir is a lake that's in the vicinity of Drift Fence Reservoir, and if you need a site to stay Dunton Hot
Springs is a great choice. All the outdoors fun things close to Drift Fence Reservoir will keep you coming back time and again. There's so much to do here at Drift Fence Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, Emerson Campground
is a great location for that, and a short journey to Vick Spring is always worthwhile.
If the weather is great here at Drift Fence Reservoir, you can go for a hike along the Eagle Peak Trail, and swing by Cottonwood Creek it's a tremendous site to visit.

Summit Lake was constructed in 1905 and reconstructed and enlarged in 1938. It is owned and operated by the Summit Reservoir and Irrigation Company. It contains 402 surfqace acres when full. The lake is stocked with fish by the Colorado Division of Wildlife (DOW) and open for public fishing. Public access is from highway 184 on the north side of the lake. There is a boat ramp. Fishing is allowed from the bank or from hand powered or trolling motor powered boats only. The public access is maintained by the DOW. The only facilities present is a boat ramp and a pit toilet. No fires, swimming or overnight camping is allowed.... |

It contains 163 surface acres when full and is owned and operated by the Summit Reservoir and Irrigation Company.
