Throughout the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 40's. Daytime highs throughout the wintertime are in the 30's with temperatures at Dowdy Lake dipping down into the 0's during winter nights. Around Dowdy Lake you don’t get a lot of rainfall; throughout the month of July you get the most rain around here; January on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful.       There's great hiking along the Swamp Creek Cutoff Trail. And that's not everything there is to do here in the Medicine Bow Mountains. There's whitewater on Cache La Poudre River for all you adrenaline people; Dowdy Lake - Arapaho National Forest is a great campground nearby. Dowdy Lake is a great place to visit for more than one day, Lost Lake Campground is a great place to camp nearby, and a round of golf at nearby Fox Acres Country Club is a fine way to                  kill some time. Just can't get enough of the Medicine Bow Mountains. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Kreutzer Nature Trail, and in all probability you're looking for close by lakes? Sure, Twin Lake is just a very short distance away. Twin Lakes Dam is gorgeous and it's near Dowdy Lake, and a fine spot to have a look at is Columbine Canyon. This lake is one of the great places here in the Medicine Bow Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Dowdy Lake; North Lone Pine Trail is a nice local trail; Fawn Valley Inn is a great site to get some rest. Just can't get enough of Dowdy Lake.
