Boulder Lake is a nearby lake that you could explore, and there's brilliant hiking along the Fayville Trail. Doris Lake is pretty dried up ordinarily; through October this area sees the most rain, and the driest month is January. This lake is so wonderful. The vista of Little Marvine Peaks from Doris       Lake is stunning, and a perfect place to camp here at Doris Lake is Shepherds Rim Campground. All through the days of summer, highs usually are in the 80's at Doris Lake while nighttime lows are usually in the 40's.
